Sometime at the end of June/beginning of July, I backed my car into someone at church. Just scratched their door and completely broke off my bumper. Ugh. Insurance claim, new bumper, and $1000 repair later....
First day of July, Jon's boss laid him off "due to financial struggles". We have one month of employment. That is where it all began.Put our house on the market. Had some hope of selling it, but listed it for rent as well.
People looked, and we had hope.
10 other houses in our subdivision went up for sale...all for smaller price than we asked.
Hope diminished.
People still interested in our house. Small ray of hope returned.
Work environment steadily deteriorates until it isn't worth the agony of going anymore. Jon resigns early and saves all our sanity's.
Took Chevy in for "free" oil change. Got charged $20 more b/c it needed "special oil" (which it has never needed before). Pretty annoyed by that.
Last week of July; FINALLY got check from insurance to get car repaired. Timing requires a rental for scheduled Utah trip. This costs more than expected.
Went to Utah for visit. Crossed fingers someone would want to buy our house while we were gone.
Agent went to view house and found that no key was in the key box. Joy.
Luckily, our realtor had it. All worked out.
Received offer to lease house with possible purchase at the end. Took offer and breathed a sigh of relief.
Came back to NV to pack and move. Leave two older kids in Utah (
Car finally repaired and back in our hands. Boy, we have a nice car :).
Got letter from Apartment (that we moved OUT of 6 months ago) that we owed them $200. Bill dated Feb. 4th. Letter postmarked August 3rd. Oiy.
Go to work out money we shouldn't owe and still have not heard back.
Took Honda to get "free" oil change. Had appointment, but turned away because they didn't have ANY oil.
Took Julianne in for check-up. Growing healthy and strong.
Took Honda for second appt. (calling before to make sure they had oil) only to be told it could take up to 3 hrs b/c they were busy (why did I make an appt then???). OH and they want me to pay $10 for high mileage oil. uh...NO!! made them use regular oil and actually got the FREE oil change that I went to get.
Realtor hard to get a hold of about leasing offer. Concern for agreement.
Work out leasing agreement with tenant. Pull house off market. Pack, load and leave first house.
One last pic of our first house. Although it totally stressed us out, I was just a teeny bit sad to leave....
One last pic with our house.
So, here we are in Utah. Living with Jon's parents once again (it sure is a good thing they love us). Our house has been rented (whew). We are healthy and blessed. Now, on to the job hunt. Brooklyn will be going to school at the elementary school Jon attended (awww...) and hopefully we will be employed and happily settled soon. Thanks for everyone's concern. I appreciate all the love and support. Driving back to Utah was an adventure. I'm not great at driving long distances by myself...we had a little rough patch around Payson (didn't help it took us 12 hrs....stupid hills). But, made it and we're glad to be settled. So, if you're in Utah and want to hang out, definitely give us a buzz! I had so many people offer me their listening ears and such that I can't thank anyone enough. Thanks again!

i'm sorry that living in vegas was more hassle than home - i will miss you and your awesome kids. think of me when you have that 1 hot day a year... :-)
Sorry, babe. If it helps at all, I am going through the same thing, sans family, that is. Big hugs going your way (and they have to travel far less distance now. whew).
i was wondering...knew you were having a rough patch, but knew it would all work out. everyone has bumps in the road..isn't life grand? :) congrats on progress and so happy for you that you are on the upswing of things!! (this is heather btw!)
Holy smokes! That is a CRAZY story! We just bought tickets to come back to visit my parents for Christmas. it's still a long ways off, but I'll let you know when we get there, I'd love to meet the newest little Hibshman. Assuming you guys haven't moved back across the country by then, of course. :)
You deserve a nice long nap, take one for me too.

I'm so glad to finally hear the story! Now I know where you moved TO. Well, that's one crazy month, I have to say. Glad you are all doing well and that you were able to get your house leased! We'll have to get together now that you guys are in Utah.
I'm glad you guys made it through that crazy month and that you are here to play with us now! We should play settlers again and maybe one of us will win this time. :D
What a time you have had, Anne Marie! I hope that everything works out soon - I am so sorry!!!! Take care, and post some more pics of those beautiful children of yours. :)
Wow, hon. That's a crazy couple of months! Good luck to you guys - keep your chin up, the Lord will bless you!
Oh I just wanted to cry again for you when I read this, but I'll tell you again just like before, I know that you guys will be blessed and taken care of, I KNOW it! You just hang in there and keep up all the good work, you are a good mom and a good wife - don't forget it:)
Holy Moly! That is a lot of stress! We are glad that you are back home in Utah! And glad you are a lot closer!
Glad you're at this end of the rollercoaster now. Hope things turn out and calm down. Best wishes.
Just like Debbi said everything will work out even better than you thought it would. I've been thinking about you all month and especially around this time of your move. Glad you made it safe and sound. You guys are awesome and awesome things are in store.
Love ya!
Glad you guys made it safe and that you can finally take a little breath! Jon will find a job soon - don't worry, it will work out. And as always, call anytime to chat. And tell Jon the same he and Josh always have some good venting sessions! :)
Thinking of you!
Wow, what a month! I will be so glad to see the recession end someday so everyone can breathe a sigh of relief and know they have some stability in their lives and jobs.
Sometime life just stinks but you seem to be handling it well! Sounds like a crappy month but I am glad that things worked out with the house and you are with family, what would we do without family??? Hang in there, we are think of ya! Oh, and I love the princess bride quote.
Oh my goodness, Anne-Marie! You guys have sure been through it! You seem to be handling everything so well, and like Debbi and Erica said, I too know that everything will work out. Maybe not right away, maybe not like you thought it would, but it will. It seems like when things get really bad, and just keep getting worse, that if we can make it through that, even better things than we could have imagined are around the corner. Then we can look back on the craziness and finally laugh about it :) I can just feel some really good things around the corner for you guys!
Hang in there!!
Welcome back to Logan!!! So sad to hear about the stressful life you guys have been having...hopefully it turns around soon!! In the meantime stop by and say hi!! Is Brooklyn going to Woodruff?? How is she old enough for school already? So crazy isn't it???
Oh Anne-Marie...what a month!! Sorry for all the stinky things you had to go through. I know that you might not understand why all this is happening now, but hopefully someday, you will be able to look back and see the reason for it all. I have been thinking of you and hoping that everything was going ok. Glad that you have a place to stay now and a great family to give you all the love you need! Smile girl :)
I'm so sorry! What a whirlwind! Sad to see you go!
Wow! You have had quite the go. I hope you are alright. It's been awhile but we are thinking of you. I do love Logan, hopefully you can enjoy this time with family.
Sounds like a crazy, hectic time. Hopefully it will work out soon! Thank goodness for family huh?
Good luck!
