Birthday Bash

Somehow it happened....My little boy turned 6!  I was in Utah for his birthday but he had a great weekend with everyone else.  :)  His day started out opening presents (at 7:30 a.m., no less.  Who sleeps in on Saturday?  Not us, just on days when school is in session...) and then he got to spend all day playing with them.  In the afternoon, Grandma and Grandpa Hibshman, Grandpa Ken and I got to skype with him and get a play by play of all the goodies :).  

 We did have a little birthday celebration before I left and let Mason open one gift.  He's been begging me for a quilt and I'd kind of put it off.  I decided his birthday was a perfect time.  Julianne did great at keeping it a secret and he was pleased.  I was really happy with how it turned out, too :).

 It's just as exciting for Julianne and Brooklyn to watch Mason open presents, I think.

Jon worked out another masterpiece.  Somehow, between running errands and going to help out with Mason's snack time....

And, last but not least, Good friends to help us eat the cake!  Happy Birthday, Mason!  Quit growing so fast!!!
Mason is so into Legos right now, it's kind of ridiculous.  He's not alone, though.  Julianne plays with them as much as he does :).  He loves school and playing with his friends.  He loves to play with Brooklyn and struggles the most when she's not interested.  Julianne, however, is always willing :).  Mason also loves to read.  He can read nearly everything we put in front of him.  He likes to do creative writing as well.  We have our birthday check-up today (maybe.  If we make it there!).  And, I'm certain he's healthy and growing.  He's finally decided he likes catsup.  It only took us 6 years to convince him to try it.... Oh, we've come a long way in 6 years.  How did it go by so fast?  Happy Birthday, bud!
