The party

Well, we had a very successful Day! It started out with my favorite part of the whole thing. I heard Mason was awake so I went in to get him saying, "Happy Birthday, Mason!" and he grinned at me and said, "Happy Birday, Momma!". HA! It was awesome. He did this throughout the entire day. Anyone wishing him a happy birthday got a happy birthday wish in return. I love it!
officially 2 years old!
We then proceeded to make the day as special as we could. I took the kids to McDonald's (a treat in itself, I much prefer Wendy's) and then let them play on the playground there (oober-exciting, Brooklyn hasn't even done that very often). They LOVED it! We were at good old Mcky D's for over an hour. Time well spent, I'd say. Then we attempted a nap time....yeah it didn't quite work out; and waited for Daddy to come home so the festivities could really start!
Homemade pizza for dinner with presents and a tractor cake on the horizon...what could be better??
Isn't Jon awesome?? The cake turned out better than I imagined... Of course, I was imagining me making it and I know I would've been lucky had my talentless drawing of the thing even LOOKED like a tractor. Jon is much more ambitious and Skilled at this sort of thing.

Finally! Present time! Niether kid could contain themselves. Brooklyn did her very best to stay back and let Mason enjoy it, but it is SO hard!

A tractor! Woohoo!

"Thanks Grandpa!"
Daddy Putting together the new "bike"...Now that Brooklyn enjoys her bike, Mason wants to play, too!

Cheese!
And, last but not least, Candles!! Finally time to dig into the Cake!
"Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday dear Mason! Happy Birthday to you!!"

It was a great day, and having missed his nap combined with all the excitement, he Crashed as soon as he got into bed. What fun! I wish my birthdays were still this exciting! They probably would be if I wasn's staring 30 in the face :). Hee hee.

See the two posts below for more pics on the day's events and the making of the tractor cake :)

Happy Birthday Little Guy!

The tractor cake looks great! I wouldn't have thought to plunk on the donuts/dingdongs. They make perfect wheels!

It is crazy for our #2's to be two...
