The night before her birthday we got Happy Meals and the Friday before we played with friends at the mall. Sunday brought birthday cake with friends. We haven't seen these guys for a while, so everyone was excited.
Presents!! It was all Mason and Brooklyn could do to wait until the end of church and to eat lunch to get to these babies. Good thing it was a weekend and we didn't have to wait for Dad to come home again!
This girl LOVES sunglasses. She was using a pair of Brooklyn's but her new shades fit much better....
More presents! That's what she kept saying as we went along. She was pretty bummed when she ran out...
Yummy yummy cake!
The sesame street cake. We debated making her a "Jon" cake, but decided to try out a new recipe instead. She doesn't care and she got an "elmo" cake. And, turns out, the recipe was delicious. The frosting was made with whipped cream and sour cream (among other things). Tasty!
More presents! Woohoo!
Modeling the shoes and the shades (Thanks, Morrells!)
Cheese for the Cake!
And, Her first picture of being 2. She's acted 2 for a while now, all Sass-a-frass and a little sugar. We couldn't imaging life without our dear Julianne. She seems to be a little bigger than Brooklyn was at this age, I need to look it up. Monday was her Dr's appointment and she weighed in at 26 lbs (39 %ile) and 34.5 in tall (70th %ile). Pretty much just another one of my kids.
Unfortunately, she also had to get shots. It was a really sad thing, too, because she had to have a finger prick as well. We started off with the finger prick and that got her going. Then on the second shot, she kicked so hard that the nurse accidentally scratched her leg with the syringe. I felt bad for the nurse, she was trying to be so quick! It was a rough 15 mins. Monday was good. Tuesday not so much. When I got home from work Monday night, she woke up burning hot (like around 102 or more). After giving her meds and letting her lethargically lay on me for a little while, she puked all over me and our bed. That was just the beginning. Needless to say, we had a very short night and a long trying day. Luckily, today, she seems to be doing much better. Ugh. Shots are no fun.
But, she is happy and healthy and we are ever so blessed that she's ours!
