The Zoo

We went to the zoo today for the first time this year and it was SOO fun! (This pic is actually from the Sioux Falls Zoo, but it's too cute to pass up!) It was great to get out and do something just for fun. Finally! It feels like we've been indoors FOREVER! It was a little crazy though. I am amazed at how much difference one year can make. Last year I had no trouble keeping track of Brooklyn, and today wasn't bad. However, we had Gage, Elizabeth, Hallie E. and Brooklyn, and there were lots of school kids there. Before I even knew she was gone from my side, Brooklyn had blended in with the crowd! It wasn't really a problem, but it really caught my attention. Poor Debbi, felt it most, I think, because she had Elizabeth too. Because of their impending move ({sigh}{sniffle}) Allsion couldn't come. It was a little crazy. It was fun to get out with everyone though. I'm glad we went. The summer trips have officially begun! Unfortunately, they won't be having the carousel this year. I'm way bummed about that because it was Brooklyn's favorite in Sioux Falls. She loves the train too, so we're still good, but you can't beat a good carousel ride! I hear there's one downtown somewhere, so we'll have to go searching for it sometime. I think I'll stick the zoo on Mondays too, for now. At least then I only have to buy one train ticket. It's only $2, but $2 can add up if you do it frequently!

On to other things: Mason is officially four months old now. I can't believe how quickly the time's gone! He's rolling (one way at least) and sits up like a seal when you put him on his belly. Tonight for dinner he's having cereal for the first time! How did we get to this point already??? I swear it took Brooklyn LOTS longer to get to this stage! It's so fun, though. I love to watch Brooklyn interact with him. Today, I was trying to get him to take a nap on his own (Stupid shots always mess up our system), and he was crying. She immediately went in to see what was the matter. When I brought her out without getting him, she gave me the funniest look. She understood, I think. At least she didn't go in again. Ah well. It's all a learning curve.
In case you couldn't tell, I'm loving this mult-picture thing! I hope you all enjoy it too! More to come, I promise. We are due for Brooklyns 3 Year pics (holey cow!) and a new Family pic. This will be the first "official" family pic since Mason joined us. It should be fun!
