catcher-up....

You know...you'd think I'd learn that these aren't the favorite posts to read....oh well...
I've been seriously lazy at uploading pics of late (thus, the boring, wordy posts), however: tonight, I feel the urge. So, here it goes!
Yet another stint of sewing. This was my second skirt. Since then, I've made two others for my sisters-in-law...oh how I wish I owned a sewing machine!

Mason's first professional haircut. Yes, I realize he's had many (all of which debuted on this blog), but this one was special.
Auntie Jennie is fixing him up right!

He wasn't so sure about the itchy hair.

But it was all worth it! Isn't he handsome, and she so cute??!!!!

Yes, he is ours...no question!

Saying good-bye to Daddy today. (**tear**).

Brooklyn wasn't so sure what all the hullabaloo was about....she figured it out around bedtime.

Jon left this afternoon for Las Vegas. He gets to start his first day of work tomorrow (Monday). It was SOOO hard to see him go. Much harder than when he left to take the bar. We don't know how long we'll be missing him and it compounded the sadness. I'm also seriously bummed that I won't get to be there for his first day of work. I really wanted a pic of my Handsome-Lawyer-Husband, but it will have to be a little belated. We're still waiting to hear about the house. If we get it, the kids and I won't move down until it's closed on. If we don't, we'll be renting so we can go down as soon as next weekend. I wish they would hurry up and call!! I want to Make Some Plans!! (gee, where have I read that before??....I really shouldn't be so impatient!) It will all work out, I'm sure. I just like to know the journey rather than just the end!
And, finally.....

I made THIS today.
Are you tired of seeing all my sewing projects, yet? It's as bad as my beginner scrapbook pages! Anywho..I've really been wanting a little sun dress to wear over my swimming suit. I didn't want to spend lots of money on one, SO...I spent $3.50 on fabric and $2.44 on a pattern that I can use again and again! Pretty good deal, I'd say!! (Thanks to Carole for donating the machine-time, thread and courtesy elastic!) I'm really gonna miss not being able to sew and not having someone to encourage me at it...{sigh}....
Happy Monday, all and Welcome back to school to those still in that boat!! :). This will be the first time in nearly 7 years that one of us isn't starting school in the fall...OIY! good thing Brooklyn is due to start preschool (if we ever get settled, that is). Whatever would we do without a school schedule to dictate our lives?? :) Happy day!

P.s. Mason's head fared much better today...until Aunt Tami's that is. Sitting around chatting, I hear a cement CONK and look over to see Mason's forehead connect with the patio. Seriously! Also, over the course of the evening, he tipped over one chair and bonked his head on another. I'm truly going to have to get the kid a helmet!

I hope that you hear about the house SOON to. I don't blame you for wanting to know NOW what the options are. I hope all work out. Keep us posted.

Good work on all of the sewing projects!

Wow, you did a great job sewing that dress :-) That's pretty impressive.

We are really excited that you guys are moving down closer to us. We will definitely need to make plans together once you know when you will be down there!

I have to verify that the skirt looked very cute on you when I saw you last time! The cover up dress is way cute to! I can't believe John is gone, how sad - now we are both single moms, but let's hope for not very long! Really really excited to hear more about the house, and yes, we do need to chat on the phone sometime soon!

I am impressed that you even have the patience to sew....I feel so bad for Mason he seemed pretty sad yesterday! It looks like he had a rough weekend!

You are becoming quite the seamstress. I'm impressed! Cute projects. Poor Mason. It sounds like he is one tough kid though. I hope you get the housing situation figured out soon, too. I would be anxious not knowing what to plan for either. Wish Jon luck at his new job for us.

LOVE the sundress, way to go! I hope you get things figured out, being a single mom is less than fun.

Dang Martha! Look at you pumping out the clothes! I don't think these posts are boring at all. That skirt is so cute! I need to get out my sewing machine this fall.

How have you guys been doing?

Mason is such a little handsome man. I think it is so funny that some kids hate having their hair cut and others love it. My little brother HATES HATES HATES having his hair cut!

How fun for Jon to start work after all of his hard work and schooling. Good Luck with it.
I hope you get your house so you don't have to keep moving.
I loved all the fun things you have been making. I own a sewing machine but I don't make things, I just fix things.
Thanks for the update.

You're amazing on that sewing machine! I love the sundress. I have been needing one all summer and of course didn't ever think to make one myself. Duh! Anyway, love what you've made! I hope all goes well with housing. It is such a pain, especially to be apart from your hubby. Can't wait to hear how things turn out!
