Mason's Day

Although our days here at the Hibshman House have been relatively boring, today was the exception. We started the day out normally....Mason talking to himself in his crib while Brooklyn snoozed away. Eventually she got up, we got dressed and the kids started to play. They're upstairs, I was down; and suddenly I hear a gigantic THUMP followed by Mason's I'm-hurt-scream. I go running up the stairs to find him standing, between the piano bench and the piano, holding his head. So, before 10:30 a.m., he fell off the piano bench and hit his head on the piano.
The day continued to progress. Just after we ate lunch (I think) Mason was wandering around the dining room where I was sewing. He leaned forward for something, missed and hit his head on the foot of the dining room table. More crying. Poor kid. Soon after this, I decided it was naptime. His nap was successful, thank goodness and they day seemed to be healed from its crash-test status.
Until dinnertime that is.... We were outside, getting the fire ready to roast hot-dogs, when Mason decided he wanted to follow Brooklyn and go down the slide. Mason LOVES slides, by the way, but usually he just stands by it and says, "Slide, slide, slide" over and over until you come help him. Not today. Today he made it up 3 of the 4 rungs on the ladder (one more step and he would've been on the slide), and then FELL flat on his back on the grass. Screams, once again. Of course, I didn't see him until he was on that third rung, about 2 seconds before he fell. (aren't I a good mom, to keep tabs on my 1 1/2 year old?). This time I stand him up, trying to see his eyes and he starts saying, "slide". He seemed to be ok, so I set him up at the top and he immediately stops crying and goes down. Crazy kid.
By this time, dinner is almost ready and right after dinner is bed time, so we've almost made it through the day. Not Mason. One last time, in the tub, he slips and conks his head on the tub. Joy. 4 falls in one day. Luckily no Dr. Runs. This boy is definitely going to keep me on my toes. Hopefully tomorrow will go better for him.

OH, poor Mason, his poor little head has always taken a beating, but he is a boy so I'm sure he is ok! I can't count how many times we get hurt a day, sometimes they will have bruises I have no idea where they come from because they never cry about it.

Good luck with the house - how is it coming, I have been reading but very bad a commening. Just very jealous of a house! How exciting! I can't wait to see pictures when everything comes together

Poor kid! His head has to hurt!

Those were pretty much Kile's typical days too when he was about that age.
