The Whirlwind

Ah, we had a great trip to Ut, even if it was too short and much shorter for Jon. I just love weddings. That is the last of them for our families, too. Oh well. I guess I'll have to feed off of someone else's :). Here's the trip in a nutshell plus some tidbits I didn't think to take a picture of.

Ok, Technically this picture is before the trip. But who can go to bed without a few dozen books and your trains neatly coupled together? Seriously.

First stop of our "vacation"? The Clarkston parade. Well, it was the first stop for some of us. Julianne and I went to the Farmer's Market. These guys, however, went to Clarkston and had a blast. Mason wasn't interested in riding on the Tow Truck, but he did score some candy :)

Brooklyn, however, was ecstatic to ride on the tow truck and LOVED every minute of throwing candy. Don't worry, she didn't come home empty-handed.

What better to do after a parade than to slide down some gigantic slides. I'm actually a little sad I missed this part. It looks totally fun!
PLUS! While we were all outside enjoying the cool temps, it rained!! I know this is NOT exciting for those of you who live in normal climates, but for us...it was awesome! Jon and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Even if it did make our Sunday morning a little chillier than we were prepared for :). Even Brooklyn wanted to just stay outside in it. It was all I could do to get her in the house. I didn't want to deal with her getting a cold....

Can't have babies around and not hold them! This is Josie and Brooklyn. Josie is 5 months old and Brooklyn loved playing with her and Sammy.

Got to get some Grandma Lovin' too! This was the day of Jeffrey's blessing. Julianne was cooing and talking to Grandma James the whole time. It was SO cute!
Then there was the event I didn't photograph and the cause for the ER comment. The kids were all playing (all 5 of them) and as you can imagine that was sometimes nice and sometimes not-so-nice playing. Well, one day (now I can't even remember which one... Monday?) the kids were playing and we (as mom's) had to tell them to be nice several times. Finally the kids were upstairs and someone started to cry. Anna could tell it was hers so she went up to get after them to be nice. Unfortunately, they were tears of pain. Kile had conked his head on a handle (door or drawer) and given himself a GIGANTIC goose egg. It was seriously impressive. Should've taken a pic. Good thing he's tough!

Julianne didn't want her picture taken while sleeping, I guess...

She didn't, however, object to getting her toes painted. Isn't it awesome. All the girls (Brooklyn, Harper, Josie, and Julianne) had spiffy toenails for the wedding. LOVE IT!

Finally, the wedding. This is the Happy Couple. I forget how tiring Weddings are. I didn't do anything but go, but I was WORN OUT by the end. We need to work out a new system. Have all the stuff together so it isn't so much running around and back and forth. Guess it's good that was our last one. :) Congrats, guys!

This is Julianne in her beautiful dress for the wedding. She looked so cute! Brooklyn's was the same only in cream. Their first "matchy" outfits!! Awww. Also, luckily for us, this is how she spent the entire reception. It made holding Mason while he took a mini-nap and chasing Brooklyn around a whole lot easier!

We did have some smiles at the reception. After a nap of course.

And, this is courtesy of Brooklyn on the way home. She is getting better and taking pictures. I still only get one or two out of thousands when she gets ahold of the camera, but she loves it!

Lastly, after the reception, I had Jon's Bro take some pics of Julianne. I still haven't gotten one for the wall yet. So, here's one of Julianne's 2 (and 1/2) month pics. I can't wait to get the rest and get one up! They turned out so great!

Julianne was awesome during her photo sesh, too. She'd had a long nap and just eaten so she was all smiles. Unfortunately, the whole event wasn't worth smiling over. We were using Jon's Parent's bedspread for a background, and while trying to be sneaky to hold Julianne up, I pulled off the vase we were using to anchor it down. Needless to say, I got hit on the back and the vase broke on the floor. Not to pieces, I could've fixed it, but for one breathless moment I thought it was a vase from Dave's mom. SIGH! Luckily it wasn't, but I still felt really bad. I would've fixed it, but they didn't have any super glue! OIY! Next time I go up, I'm TAKING super glue so I can fix it!

So, there you have it. Our Whirlwind Utah trip. Bummer for Jon, he drove us up. Spent Saturday, flew home Sunday, worked Monday and Tuesday, flew back up Tuesday night, Wedding all day Wednesday and drove us home Thursday. He didn't get any "vacation" at all...Poor guy. One day, we'll take a real vacation.... Someday....
