The Countdown

Yes, we are still alive. I know it's been a week and I've tried to think of things to blog about. Sadly, nothing has come to mind. Last week I was super bored so I used some leftover paint from our bathroom "remodel" and painted the master bath the same color. It looks rather nice, if I do say so myself, and sufficiently took up my day. Poor Julianne had a rough one that day, though. It's such a traumatic life when you can't be held every moment you are awake....

Poor baby. We're looking forward to the weekend, though. All the grandparents are coming in for her blessing. Plus some Aunts/Uncles and cousins. Not everyone though. But that's ok. We still feel loved :). I'm looking forward and counting down the days until we have some company and Jon is in need of a break. It's going to be an interesting summer. We "enjoyed" being students, in that we had time off all the time....then last summer I played all day while he worked all day...now, he gets to work all day and we just kinda hang out.
We do have some trips up north on cue, and that will help. Here in the land on top of the sun, though, there isn't much to do. Especially when you can't stand to be outside for any length of time beyond 10:30 a.m. Luckily, this weekend it's going to "cool off" a little and only be in the high 80's. We really need to befriend someone with a free pool. I'm really thinking of buying one of those $10 beauties and spreading cardboard underneath it so the rocks don't puncture it. It'd work perfect, too, since when I was cleaning my paint stuff the other day, the water coming from the outside faucet was warm. No need to wait for the sun to warm it up around here!

Mason has been saying some crazy things lately. I don't know where he gets it. When Jon left this morning, he was watching from the porch so he could say good-bye. As Jon got in his car mason told him to make the "squeak-squeak" in a very adult voice (picture us asking him to dry his hands after washing them or something). Jon's car has a loose belt that squeaks when you start it. Jon says, "Ok buddy" and gets in to start his car. Starts it, and in a very excited voice Mason says, "He did it!!" HA! I had to laugh out loud at that one! Way to go Daddy! You can start your car! Well done! If only every moment of our day was filled with such excitement.
Unfortunately Mason and Brooklyn have taken to fighting about 50% of the time. One minute they're torturing each other the next they're playing happily side-by-side. Some days, it's enough to drive me insane! Luckily, I can walk away and be somewhere where I don't have to listen :). Just another step to Mother-of-the-year. I just let my kids fight it out. awesome, eh?

Well, I'm sure I'll have something more interesting to blog on Monday or Tuesday. Stay tuned until then :).

I always leave my kids to fight it out, so I don't see a problem with that one.

Cute story about "squeak, squeak".

Good luck with the blessing, sorry we can't be there.

Sorry we can't make the blessing. The scheduling just wouldn't work out. Have fun with the family horde. terri, mike & jonah (TM&J)

I was grocery shopping with my boys the other day and they started all out punching each other while in the cart. I tried to break it up, but to no avail. I finally contented myself with the thought that they were at least contained. And I finished my grocery shopping with only 3 comments from onlookers. Kids are crazy! But you gotta love them.

I wish we could come up for the blessing. It has been a really long time since we have seen you guys, and I really want to meet Julianne. Jeff has to be in the studio all weekend though...hopefully soon, or atleast sometime this summer, we'll come up to visit.
