She is my kid...
Yes, she has red hair. Yes, we look strikingly similar, and yes, I remember being like her when I was 7; but, if there was any question this seems to have cemented in the fact that she is mine. I have always fluctuated between loving my long hair and dying to chop it off and do something different. I would often chop it very short and let it grow out again. Partially because a) when your hair grows as fast as mine used to, it's very expensive to keep it short, and b) when it's as thick as mine is, there are only so many hairstyles you can actually control. Now, Brooklyn's hair is nowhere near as thick as mine and actually her coloring is more similar to Jon's than mine, but we have a similar attitude. One day the thought of cutting it off was repulsive. The next, it's the most exciting idea in the whole world. My thought for cutting it, to the chin. Maybe a touch longer. To her? Her ears. As short as possible...
10 inches later, it's somewhere between her ears and her chin. She's ecstatic and I'm happy. Although, this may necessitate a new flat iron as mine is too wide to actually work on her short hair (shoot, that really breaks my heart). 10 inches was just long enough to donate to locks of love and she was thrilled about that as well.
AND, this trip to see Lindsay confirmed that we had successfully rid ourselves of bugs! HOORAY!! My sister always was "angry" with me when I cut my hair off, but even she admitted that this 'do is super cute on Brooklyn! Thanks, Lindsay, you're the best!

Love it, I have similar feelings about my hair but lately I can't seem to be patient enough to grow it!
