here we go again...

I'm not so sure I like the way this is headed. When Brooklyn was little, she would play with her ears. It was a comfort thing. Until the helmet, that is (entirely different story). Mason is NOT the same. I knew they would be different. How could they not be? However, I was really hoping Mason would be like Brooklyn in one respect. Lack of Ear Infections. I can't really say that he's actually had any, though. We played the same game for the second time today. I told you all in my last post that I was concerned about his ears. Well, I was right. After a night of a serious lack of sleep (Brooklyn ended up in my bed and I on the couch....). Mason was 10 times worse today than yesterday. Not only was he so stuffed up he couldn't suck on his binkie, his eyes were watering as if he was crying even while smiling. So, off to the Doctor we went. And the diagnosis? Same as the last time (See here). This time, however BOTH ears were incredibly red, and only his left eye had real drainage (worse than is right at least). Poor kid. So, we're back on Augmenton (sp?) and hopefully it'll clear up fast. It also brings a dilemma. Are ear infections contagious? Just the cold? I wonder because, for the most part, he seems to be ok. Sleeps a little more than usual, a little clingy; but otherwise, same kid. Should I keep us all home over this? I'm pretty sure the answer is yes, but that brings the question: Can I handle us being at home 24 hrs for more than a day? Especially with the weather being so pleasant! It was so hard to come in today when we were playing. We did though, and I'm glad. Mason needed to rest. OH well. Maybe we will stay home from lunch bunch. That doesn't excite me too much though. Ah well. I guess that's why I'm the mom.
