Here we are already, another week gone. We're one week closer to the big test and one week down on summer fun. Nothing exciting to report, but some funny pics and interesting tidbits to share. Does anyone else feel that Mason may need a bigger bed?
Ok, ok, he is laying perpendicular to the length of the mattress, but still. He's a big kid. Especially since Brooklyn still seems so small. He doesn't seem to mind.
Swimming lessons were a success! Besides having to get all three of us there by 9, it was perfect. I liked that we were up and ready for the day and that we still had all day for "fun". Brooklyn, however, doesn't appreciate getting woken up, or out of bed :). Mason usually got bored before the 30 minutes were up, but luckily, the pool was right by the fair grounds and many trucks with trailers were passing by. He LOVED that!
Finally, thanks to a little Costco run over the weekend, my dear father-in-law picked up this incredibly interesting book: YOU: The Owner's Manual. In it, even before purchase, Jon and I learned that we seriously needed new pillows. (I had already been considering buying one, interestingly enough.) I quote pg 166-167 that caught our eye:"Action 4: Take Cover
Here's a tip about good bedroom behavior that has nothing to do with lingerie, orgasms, or pretzel-like sex positions. The average pillow infested with mites builds up two pounds of mite excrement within two years. It seems that a high incidence of asthma isn't necessarily linked to pollution but to mites in pillows and mattresses. Mites in your mattress and pillows digest the skin you shed and produce feces in the 2.5 to 10 micron range, the most dangerous for your lungs. The increases in mite feces from pillows and mattresses are thought responsible for the large increase in asthma. Get new pillows frequently and wrap the ones you have in vinyl casings (less comfortable) or with small-micron-protected cloth that's impermeable. You can find the vinyl ones at virtually any store and the 1 micron ones at CleanRest."
Now, I'm not saying we had mites, BUT we did notice how much heavier our old pillows were than the new ones AND Jon couldn't remember exactly when he got his pillow. It was time. Thus: Out with the old....

...and in with the new.
I'm looking at going to Vegas for a day with Jon, Cross your fingers for me that I can get it all worked out :)!!

How gross about the pillows! Ryan doesn't know when he got his pillow either. He is going to have to get a new one!
I saw that on Oprah once about pillows and while I really hate breaking in new ones, I just have to have them every once in a while now - it's too gross. I really do love old pillows though, they always fit so right.
Yeah - gross though.
Oh - and I was going to email you - walmart prices are $4.98 for 3 - I dont remember them being so expensive?!
Wowsa about the pillows! That's pretty nasty.
I'm glad swimming lessons were a success, it looks like her class was small, are they usually that small? I need to go sign my kids up sometime.
So will you just party in Vegas while Jon is taking the bar or what?
That is totally disgusting especially since I use a pillow that is around 20 years old! I have bought several new ones in hopes of getting rid of my old one, but I can't seem to find one that I like. Clint gets mad when I buy new ones because he always ends up using them or they just lay around. This really motivates me to find a new one and use it.
