so much for that...

I was going to keep up and blog regularly....oh well. Here's another catch-up. We've actually been kind of busy. What with the 4th, multiple family get-togethers, and much "last-minute" non-stop studying... Here is all the good times:

Logan doesn't do fireworks on the 4th. They're on the 3rd. Hyrum's are on the 2nd...We don't know why.
But, we love that we can sit in the middle of the road in front of Jon's parents and watch them for free :)
Yes, it's WAY past our bedtime, but we did awesome, actually. Mason loved the fireworks! He would "ooo" and then turn around and jabber. It was hilarious! We even made it through without any tears from Brooklyn. shocker!

What would the fourth be without a patriotic t-shirt?? It's awesome b/c Brooklyn's says, "Daddy's little Firecracker" which is totally true AND she had a onesie that said that exact thing when she was 2 months old! Pretty awesome! We'll have to attempt a tradition!
The Hyrum parade is actually ON the fourth (surprise) so we had to go collect some candy. Luckily, Brooklyn isn't as much of a go-getter as the other kids, so our bag was decent-sized (as opposed to chuck-full!)
Then, it was on to the mass-birthday party at the Wileys! It's pretty awesome that they have a pool. IN the above pic, Brooklyn was thoroughly enjoying the frosting on a couple cupcakes. Forget the cake part, she only eats the frosting.
Ready, mom!
Cheese!! We love to swim!

Last, but not least, Brooklyn's first (ever) day of swimming lessons!! They're early in the morning, so she spends all of her time out of the water like this, shivering. She LOVES it though and she is so funny to watch. The first thing they learned was to "dip" (as she calls it) which is to hold their breaths and put their face in. Every time she does it, she is SO proud of herself! This was on Monday, and that afternoon we went to Brigham to swim with my sisters. As I was blowing up her arm floaties she said, "Mom, I don't need those anymore. I learned how to swim today!" Oh, of course. What was I thinking? One lesson is all it takes! ....yeah, she wore them anyway!
This pic is kind of far way, but she's the one with the part in her hair. She had crazy buns that day!
This is how mason felt about swimming lessons. He wanted to get in!!
And, I'm a little addicted! I made this bag for Brooklyn with the scraps from the bag I made for myself. They are SO FUN!! Speaking of, I really need to post those instructions....
Finally, finally, this is how I found Mason when I went to tuck them in last night. I'm not sure how he could breathe exactly, but whatever!

Love that she is "daddy's little firecracker." It would be fun to keep that t-shirt tradition through the years!
