the weekend events

Why do weekends come and go so quickly? Jon's sis came and we had a blast! Unfortunately, she didn't get to see him very much...but we did! We played, chatted, shopped and Brooklyn hung all over her. Good times...good times....

Jon lucked out and went to NASCAR with his cousin. Although we've never watched racing before, he had a great time and it was really interesting to learn about the sport. We even watched part of the race on Sunday. I'm not interested enough to be a die-hard, but it will be fun to watch occasionally. The wrecks are crazy and the super crazy thing is that they generally just walk away....
Katie had some fun with the kids. Spoiled them like crazy. Pushed them endlessly on the swings, let Brooklyn climb all over her, paid them tonz of attention. You know. Basic cool aunt stuff. They LOVED it. Brooklyn started freaking out about katie leaving a full 24 hours before she actually left.
On Saturday we headed for the strip. Katie thought to just see the sights, but we had higher aspirations....I'll let her tell you about it...if you're interested. It was fun to see the Bellagio, though. Brooklyn liked all the flowers and such. I thought the Ox was pretty cool (at the moment, the gardens are decorated for the Chinese New Year). After Katie went w her man, Jon and I grabbed some dinner and took the kids for ice cream. A Saturday well spent, I'd say.

Sunday came and went with Katie heading home and we're back to the same old same old.

Today was a good old Dr. appt. You know how exciting they are. Wait for an hour and a half...chat for 10 minutes. I shouldn't complain. I'm healthy, the baby's healthy...(yes, debbi, I know you want a pic....soon....). Crazy thing; I only have 4 or 5 more appointments before we know what this baby is. I can't believe it's that close. I feel huge (yeah, I know what you're thinking) and I'm having wardrobe issues (still shouldn't complain), but it's still a little surreal.
On another positive note, Mason sometimes tells us when he needs to use the potty. Sometimes it's while the "need" is in action, but it's still a step in the right direction. And, every time he tells us, he does actually do something on the potty. I'm pretty stoked about it at the moment. Hopefully he doesn't "PSYCH" and quit on us!

Hope everyone else's weekend was full of fun!! :)

This post makes me want to come and visit, maybe someday Phil will have vacation time and we'll have funds to actually do that! Glad you had a good weekend. Good luck with Mason and the potty thing!
