ahh, the weekend

**Caveat: This is a rather long recap of my weekend, if you were there, or just get bored; feel free to not read on :D.**

Well, the weekend is over. It was full of good friends, good entertainment, a small portion of work, good family time and more good friends. Oh and One BIG thunder storm to welcome some new friends (assuming they made it, since I haven't heard from them). It all began with Bret's birthday. We all went bowling, which I love to do but do not do very often, and it was Brooklyn's first time. She **loved** it and figured that she should get a turn after every single person (Courtney did get a few pics, since I forgot my camera, I'll post them when I get them :D Thanks Courtney!!). She's awfully tough, too. She was so excited (and so impatient) that she brought a 7 lb ball off the shelf, up three stairs, and over to the lane all by herself. Needless to say, by the end of the game she started dropping it more and more. Luckily, she missed her toes somehow, but it came VERY close. I thought for sure we'd be headed to the hospital instead of over for pizza. We survived, however, and I even got 106. Not the best score I've ever had, but I was content. Next we headed to the Grover's for dinner and Guitar Hero....always a good time; and stayed up past bedtime. Mason was incredibly tired by the time we left; due to the fact that he's decided to resist sleeping in his car seat and anywhere else he might feel he's missing out on something.... and Brooklyn played and played and played with Ella and her toys (She's been dying to do that for a while...) Anyway, it was a blast!!
Saturday morning found me at work. I taught and class and then finished my shift on the floor. Nothing extraordinary, but the day passed quickly. (thank goodness) After work, Jon and I (and the kids) went out for dinner. We hadn't been for a while and decided we needed a little break. We debated where to go and ended up at the Machine Shed. Normally I rave about this place and I've never had cause to complain. But, I have to say...it was only mediocre. Kinda disappointed about that, we headed off to the mall. With the conclusion of school looming (YAYAYAYAY!!!) the need to increase is "work" wardrobe has slowly been an issue. So, we hit Younker's (where they are always having a sale) and found him a new shirt. Next we found him a new tie (he needs ties like I need shoes, but I definitely keep my mouth shut about that...) at Dillards. All told, we got them both for less than the original cost of the shirt. Can't complain about that! It was a productive trip. Finally, we headed home to put the kids to bed. After they were settled we just relaxed. It was heavenly. I read my book. Jon surfed the net and we laid down relatively early. I didn't sleep though because I got to go get the Christiansens from the airport. I love doing that. I love the airport and it's so fun to hear the traveller's stories on the drive home :D. They had a little snag, but I'll let her tell you about that (I seriously wonder about the airport in Denver...)
Sunday was just your regular old Sunday. We sit around in the morning, taking our time getting ready, waiting for it to be time to go...only to come home and have the day be over. Church was good, and we got to have dinner with the Grover's again (and the Christiansen's). It was VERY tastey and then we sat around and talked (I love to do that, too :D). All in all, I'd say it was a great weekend! Now it's Monday again, back to the grind, but soon we'll be in Sunny San Diego and I can't wait!
