ebay

Ebay and I have a love/hate relationship. Selling has never gone very well for me. Buying usually does, but I've had a few bad experiences. I have all this stuff that people will say, "That'd be great to sell on ebay!" and I just don't really believe them. My incredible in-laws have had ebay be very successful, but even when I do the exact same things? It just doesn't work out. So here's the dilemma....I have a pile of stuff that would be "great" to sell on ebay. Do I do it? Do I pay a bunch of fees to list stuff that won't sell? Do I list stuff that does sell at my starting price so I barely break even on my selling fees? Do I just give up and donate the movies to the library and stash the other thing for later? I just don't know. Today I started out all gung-ho. Took pictures, appraised appearance (preparing to write a description). Then the time came to actually post....Nope. Didn't happen. Why? Because I'm just not sure it's worth the effort. I looked up the first thing. There were 60 listings and about 5 of them had bids. That isn't very reassuring. Granted, it's an ashtray, I have absolutely no use for it, and even if it sold, technically it'd be profit. But, I just know, if it sells, I'll just barely break even from the fees. Is it worth it just to get rid of it? I might as well just throw it away! I don't know. Maybe I'll just jump off the bridge and do it. Then again....maybe not.

Right now not a lot of stuff is selling for us. I am thinking the weather outside is to nice to be inside. I'm waiting until school starts to put a lot of our stuff on. Good luck with whatever you decide!

I have to be in the mood and STAY in the mood to have a desire to post anything for sale on ebay. If you really think you'll barely break even then why bother...that's what I think. I just think the whole hassle of packaging the stuff up and taking it to the post office is just not worth it unless you know you could make a GOOD profit...anyway, my two cents for ya...

I'd say it's a tossup, sometimes it sells and sometimes it doesn't. I just think it's fun to watch, it becomes almost like an addiction, it's crazy!
